Top Real Estate Agent NZ ("we", "us") operates a free agent matching service for New Zealand homeowners. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020.
How this works, and who owns us
Our service is free to you. You pay us nothing, and using our service does not increase the commission you pay your agent.
Top Real Estate Agent NZ is under common ownership with one of the agencies we work with, and your enquiry may be referred to that agency. We disclose this so you can weigh our recommendation accordingly.
What we collect
When you complete the form on this site we collect:
- Your name, mobile number and email address
- The address of the property you are considering selling
- Your indicated selling timeframe, property type and number of bedrooms
- Technical information: your IP address, the page you submitted from, and the site that referred you
We also collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, described below.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Research recent sales around your address and prepare your free Sold Report
- Identify which local agent is the strongest match for your property
- Contact you once by phone or email to discuss your situation and deliver your recommendation
- Introduce you to that agent, but only with your agreement
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
We share your details with an agent only when you have told us you want to be introduced. If you do not ask for an introduction, your details are not passed on.
We use Resend (email delivery) and our web host to operate the service. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how visitors find and use the site. These set cookies in your browser and collect anonymous usage data. We do not pass your name, email, phone number or property address to Google.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally either way.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months so that we can answer questions about a referral and meet our record keeping obligations. After that they are deleted.
Security
Your submission is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored on a server we control, located in Australia. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the service.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@toprealestateagentnz.co.nz or call 027 442 1341, and we will respond within 20 working days.
You can also ask us at any time to stop contacting you, and we will.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
